El lago de los cisnes

Lago Budi, sombrío, pesada piedra oscura,
agua entre grandes bosques insepulta,
allí te abrías como puerta subterránea
cerca del solitario mar del fin del mundo.
Galopábamos por la infinita arena
junto a las millonarias espumas derramadas,
ni una casa, ni un hombre, ni un caballo,
sòlo el tiempo pasaba y aquella orilla verde
y blanca, aquel océano.
Luego hacia las colinas y, de pronto,
el lago, el agua dura y escondida,
compacta luz, alhaja del anillo terrestre.
Un vuelo blanco y negro: los cisnes ahuyentaron
largos cuellos nocturnos, patas de cuero rojo,
y la nieve serena volando sobre el mundo.

Oh vuelo desde el agua equivalente,
mil cuerpos destinados a la inmòvil belleza
como la transparente permanencia del lago.
De pronto todo fue carrera sobre el agua,
movimiento, sonido, torres de luna llena,
y luego alas salvajes que desde el torbellino
se hicieron orden, vuelo, magnitud sacudida,
y luego ausencia, un temblor blanco en el vacío.


Swan lake

Lake Budi, sombre, dark heavy stone,
unburied water between high forest,
there you opened, like a subterranean door,
near the solitary sea at the end of the Earth.
We galloped over the infinite sands
joined to the flowing richness of spume,
not a house, not a man, not a horse,
only time going by, and that green and white shore,
that ocean.
Then towards hills, and, of a sudden,
the lake, a solid, secretive water,
compact light, gem of an earthly ring.
A flight, white and black: swans being banished,
long necks of nocturnal darkness, webs of scarlet skin,
and the clear snow flying over the world.

O flight from water’s meaning,
thousand bodies destined to beauty unshaken
like the lake’s pellucid permanence.
Suddenly, the whole, was a rush over water,
motion, sound, turrets of full moon,
and then wild wings making order from whirlwind,
a grandeur, flying, a beating,
and then, absence, white tremor of void.
